Introduction:
Read following statements of some of modern time celebrities:
- “No more press conference, please. You’re at a certain place in your career where people know you. It’s not like you have to get known. I don’t want to be more famous”. – George Clooney, Hollywood actor.
- “Wish I had never left the Manchester United (football club). United is so special to me. But it was just not meant to be”. – David Beckham, famous footballer of England, who left Manchester United after 10 yrs, for A.S. Milan, Italy.
- Add to above the recent transgression by Golf icon Tiger Wood.
What can be made out of such statements, by materially successful modern time celebrities, why do celebrities regret their actions/decisions. Reasons to point are:
- Intense material desire had overpowered them.
- They had lost control on themselves.
Any human beings, who establishes complete control on his/her-self, will never submit to any allurement of materials or otherwise. He/she will use the circumstances rather than overpowered by them. Above cases also prove that material success of any individual is no proof of his/her self-control. Even in past also, famous persons were found wanting on the moral side of their conduct. Root cause in all such case is: Loss of Self-control i.e. loss of control on their mind.
Yoga is the spiritual science that teaches how to develop self-control. This spiritual science teaches one how to move in the invisible “Internal World”, also known as “Mystic World” or “Finer World”. External world or visible world can be handled satisfactorily by using our intellect. But, what about internal world? Intellect is useful only for tackling the physical world, that too in conscious state. Every body experiences the helplessness of our intellect in sleep state, where dreams overpower us, and our intellect cannot come to our rescue from our bad experiences. Internal world is much, much finer than the dream state. Yoga makes one understand that the external world (physical world) is mere physical extension of the finer world (spiritual world). The source of the external world lies in the internal world. For self-control, we need to connect ourselves with the Source.
Need of Yoga Teachers & Their Training:
Even a very simple mundane work needs a minimum level of knowledge to execute it. And this is also true that humans are blessed with some in-built natural qualities. For example: a would-be mother needs no training, how to develop emotions for arriving child. Newly born child needs not to be taught, how to suck mother’s breast. And all humans are blessed with all such qualities naturally. Differences are in the use of free will. But, yet there are lot many areas where one has to put his/her intelligence and effort to achieve intended results. For example: Process of respiration is an involuntary activity. But, to get it’s optimum effect for good health, we have to do deep rigorous practices, as done in “Pranayama” in Yoga.
So, there is no denying of the fact that every body needs some amount of guidance or teaching to live in this world. What about invisible world, the internal world? (also called Spiritual World). No body can accompany us to guide. No help, except, you alone have to move on. You have to move alone to reach the Ultimate Source. Your experiences are yours only nobody can share it. Question is: How to proceed? Now here arises the need of a guide, a teacher or a Guru to make us move. One who has already traversed those mysterious paths. One who has practical experiences of such internal journey. One who has undergone rigorous practices to achieve such “Divine Experiences”. Such experienced or realized or enlightened Souls, human beings, are known as “Yoga Gurus”, a Yoga Guide or a “Yoga Teacher”.
Sincere endeavors of “Yoga Kalyana Kendra” is to make available such experienced Yoga teachers who can, at least, make a beginner, a Yoga seeker, to move on his/her internal journey. Once a little personal experiences start building up, practitioner’s evolved state forces him/her to go through more rigorous practices. This way every practitioner is made to evolve and develop self-control.
Content of Yoga Teachers Training:
Aspiring teachers are made to live in residential types of camps, completely withdrawn from worldly activities during the period of training. Training is organized at three levels.
- (I) Level One: Preliminary Level: Aspiring teachers are trained for following knowledge:
- Anatomical and Physiological set-up of Physical body: This is “Know your body” part of training session. Working of all physical system, their inter-relationship and their effects on overall health of human body. Such knowledge is covered.
- Constitution of finer body (also known as spiritual body): Concept and knowledge about Mind, Intellect, Ego, Consciousness etc. are discussed.
- Somatic-Psychic & Psycho-Somatic Connections: This is most important part of Level – One training. How mind affects the working and state of physical body, how state of physical body affects the state of mind (i.e. finer body), this important knowledge is imparted.
- Somatic-Psychic & Psycho-Somatic Practices: Yoga practices like Asans and preliminary Pranayama are introduced to build control on, primarily, physical body and, in part, to build connection with mind.
- (II) Level Two: Secondary Level: A Level-One trained teacher can qualify for Level-Two. Areas of practices covered during training are:
- Somatic-Psychic Practices: Advanced practices for higher level Asans, Mudras and Bandhas (psychic locks) are covered.
- Psycho-Somatic Practices: Complete breathing controls and Pranayama are practiced.
- Pratyahar (Introversion) Practices: This is most important part of Yoga training. Practices for introversion of mind from external world are performed, to bring mind in the internal world. Complete success of Yoga practices directly depends on the quality of “Pratyahar, the introversion of Mind”.
- Practice of Awareness and Visualization.
- (III) Advanced Level: This is the highest level of training of aspiring Yoga teachers. Level-Two qualified teachers are given following training, once they master the “Pratyahar” of Mind.
- Dharana (Concentration)
- Dhyan (Meditation)
- Samadhi (Equanimity of Mind)
Aspirants achieve an Ultimate State of Mind where, even in Conscious State, he/she remains unaffected by the worldly happenings. His/her personality becomes calmly flowing water without any waves. He/she becomes master of the situation around him/her. Adverse situation do encounter him/her without affecting his/her composure and peace of mind. Nothing of this material world can overpower his/her mind’s peace. He/she becomes master of his/her existence. This state is called “Anand” perpetual “Bliss”. No words can describe such an experience. Only seeker enjoys it.
Every level qualified experienced Yoga teacher can guide the lower level aspirant. But he/she must sustain his/her own practices so that evolution keeps on happening. Ultimate success depends on seeker’s faith and belief in the practices performed and perseverance on his/her part.
“Yoga Kalyana Kendra” assures help in all aspects of Yoga training.
